In the original DuckTales, Launchpad's parents were indeed pilots, as was his little sister. Not sure if that's still true in DuckTales 2017 or not.
Good observations! I think that Launchpad's signature is kind of cute. Look at that propeller under it!
Good question! You're more than welcome to post non-DuckTales questions here, as long as they still relate to Scrooge, Donald, Mickey, etc. Personally, all three -- Donald, José, and Panchito -- are such good characters that it's hard to pick a favorite, though I might favor Donald just a little bit since I've read more stories and seen more cartoons which star him than the other two.
Friend, does this have anything to do whatsoever with the universe of Scrooge McDuck & co.? I guess that the Ottoman Empire did exist in the Prime Universe, but this still just seems a bit off-topic, no? It's best that we keep this Discuss section on-topic.
Original because trumpets
Drats. Huey, Dewey, and Louie don't appear in either of the comics I posted according to INDUCKS. Unfortunately, I'm now basically clueless as to what comic it might be. Hopefully someone else will know, and I'll tell you if I ever do find it!
A comic with the specific DuckTales brand or just a generic Disney duck comic? The two best contenders, according to the wonderful tool INDUCKS (http://inducks.org/) seem to be Confusão Histórica (https://inducks.org/story.php?c=B+820341) and Um Carnavalesco Genial (https://inducks.org/story.php?c=B+950220)
@Theo0005 Yeah! The show where Huey, Dewey, and Louie are teenagers in the '90's and Donald is a cameraman for news reporter Daisy.
I feel like quackin', so I think I will!
I'm gonna quack, quack, quack until I get my fill!
I think it airs on Disney Channel in the United States and is also available on Disney Plus, I believe. Not sure about other countries. I haven't actually watched the show any in the past year, so someone else can probably give you more information.
Well, the comics don't usually make that distinction, of course. I think it was the old DuckTales that established that Huey wears red, Dewey wears blue, and Louie wears green. Of course, they sometimes just all wear black in the comic, so it's really hard to tell the difference in comics.
@Iwillhavethisusername I look towards Quack Pack and DuckTales 2017 as the source for distinction between the three. Of course, Quack Pack's and DuckTales's portrayal of the two are totally different, so I guess that you just have pick one show to go with or sort of come up with a mental "average" of all versions of HDL.
Not sure if you're asking about the Scrooge McDuck Wiki server or another server, but either way, @Drleevezan can probably help you. I don't really now how to get Discord invitations to people. I only really use Discord for this wiki and don't really explore it much.
This wiki has a very wide range of focus. We cover cartoons, comics, music, and merchandise. As long as it relates to the Duck/Mouse Universe (or the Prime Universe as it has been so dubbed), it most likely has a place here.
It's Donald for me. He's an incredibly versatile character who is, in my opinion, the foundation of the Duck universe. Scrooge is a great character as rich in his depth and entertainment value as the character purports to be in-universe, but there's just something about Donald. He's so easy for us to insert ourselves into, while also being a great character on his own. He can be a jealous villain, a bold hero, or a cowardly fool, but he's always Donald.
@DucktalesCreatir Scrooge is actually Donald's uncle, not brother. Why do Huey, Dewey, and Louie call Scrooge "uncle", then? Well, "uncle", in this case, is really just short for "granduncle". Donald is Huey, Dewey, and Louie's uncle, and Scrooge is both Donald's uncle and Huey, Dewey, and Louie's granduncle. Also, Don Dugo is a distant ancestor of Donald's from the 1500's. He's not Donald's actual father. According to Don Rosa's comic The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, Donald's father's name is Quackmore Duck.
That's very possible, @Theo0005 .
That's a fanmade tree, so while the information presented therein is certainly interesting, it's not official. Anyway, that Daisy is Huey, Dewey, and Louie's aunt is a pretty predominant fan theory these days. I believe Don Rosa has been mentioned as a proponent of the theory, so it does have some official backing. The logic is generally that since Huey, Dewey, and Louie refer to Daisy as "Aunt Daisy", then she must be their aunt somehow. Since Huey, Dewey, and Louie's last name is Duck, some have concluded that their father was also a Duck and, perhaps in an attempt to both decrease the number of unrelated Duck families around and to explain the whole "Aunt Daisy" thing, conclude that he must have been Daisy's brother. Also of note is that in the cartoon Donald's Diary, Daisy has three younger brother who appear to be rascally triplets just like HDL! Some have speculated that one of those brothers grew up to be HDL's dad.
@LunaLovegoodlover9 Interesting. Do you know the source for that?
The Klondike Gold Rush was in 1897, not 1867, so there is no contradiction.
