A Gal for Gladstone is a comic story written by Carol and Pat McGreal and drawn by Massimo Fecchi. It features Gladstone Gander, Magica De Spell, Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, Ratface and Miss Quackfaster.

Plot

Magica De Spell has cooked up a complex scheme to get at the Number One Dime — after hearing Scrooge say that he would give Gladstone a job at the Money Bin if he didn't prefer to rely on his luck, she uses a special curse to cancel Gladstone's luck. Under a disguise ("Matilda"), she then seduces the distraught Gladstone, hoping to get him to trust her enough to let her into the Bin unsupervised. However, are her feelings for Gladstone truly just pretend?

Behind the scenes

This story was first printed in February of 2004 in the German Lustiges Taschenbuch #321. It was first printed in English in Uncle Scrooge #374, and was reprinted again in English in the German Lustiges Taschenuch English Edition #1, under the title A Girl for Gladstone.

The Sorceress's Apprentice is a sequel to the story, whose events are also referenced in Dance with Destiny and Witch Hunt, both also the work of Sarah Jolley.
