Concerned about his son's behavior, Goofy decides to take his boy Max on a road trip from their home to Lake Destiny, Idaho. Meanwhile, Max has lied to his crush, Roxanne, about the trip, claiming that he is going to see the famous pop singer, Powerline. He struggles with this as he wonders if he should admit he lied or trick his dad into driving them to a Powerline concert in Los Angeles instead of Lake Destiny.

Walter P. Goofey and Benjamin Goofey were two members of Goofy's family who signed their names on map to Lake Destiny that Goofy and his father used.
A calendar seen at a diner that Goofy and Max visit implies that the film takes place in June. Notably, the calendar shows only six days in a week and shows that there are 31 days in June.
For "twelve or thirteen Goof generations" the Goof family has used a method known as the "perfect cast" while fishing.
