A Helper's Helping Hand is a comic story written and drawn by Carl Barks. It features Gyro Gearloose and the Little Helper.

Description[]

Gyro Gearloose has invented a very efficient portable paint-sprayer and is dying for an opportunity to test it; though his Little Helper insists that painting toys would be its more appropriate use, Gyro rebels against such a "small" purpose — and he couldn't be happier is tasked by the city of Duckburg with repainting Narrows Bridge! But as always, Gyro would have done better to listen to his diminutive robot companion…

Behind the scenes[]

This story was first published in 1963 in Uncle Scrooge #46. It was reprinted in Walt Disney Comics Digest #10, Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #526, Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #639, in the British Super Mag #6 and The Disney Magazine Annual 1986, and Australian Giant #308, and, of course, in several versions of the Carl Barks Library.

Interestingly, Barks here uses the Daily Dirge as the exposition-dispensing Duckburg newspaper, instead of the usual Bugle.
