Washing-Up is a comic strip written by Bas Schuddeboom and Jim van der Weele, and drawn by Marga Querol Manzano. It features Madam Mim and Witch Hazel and mentions a character called Tanneke (possibly intended to be Mammy Bammy or Grimhilde).

Plot[]

As they share a meal, Madam Mim and Witch Hazel discuss a new spell that their witch colleague Tanneke has been developing.

Behind the scenes[]

This story was first printed in the Dutch Donald Duck #2009-17, and was later rereleased on the Donald Duck Weekbald Facebook account. It has never been officially released in English.

It is not clear if the Tanneke mentioned in this story is a reference to the historical alleged witch Tanneke Sconyncx, to her folklorical counterpart Anneke Tanneke Toverheks, or to either of two Disney witches whose names were previously rendered in Dutch translations of comic stories as "Anneke Tanneke Toverheks", conflating them with the local figure: Witch Grimhilde or the swamp-dwelling witch Mammy Bammy, originally from the Brer Rabbit Sunday pages.
