All That Sparkles Is Not Concrete is a comic story written and drawn by Aristide Twain. It features Governor-105 and Mandragora-257, of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids.

Plot

In Morningstar 1, Mandragora-257, the Governor's court alchemist, boasts that he has mastered one of the key skills of the accomplished alchemist: the transmutation of base metals into gold. The Governor, however, is unimpressed.

• This story serves as a prequel to The Resurrection of the Wellsians (2019), showing how the walls of the base Morningstar 1 came to be made of gold.
• After the previous comic, Towering Success (2019), it was the second entry in the regular Cupid comic strip to serve as a prequel to an existing story instead of implicitly taking place in the present day of the Cupids as depicted in the concurrently-released stories.
