April, May and June, sometimes referred to as April, May and June Duck, are three female anthropomorphic ducks.
April, May and June are the daughters of Daisy Duck's sister. Like their sort-of-cousins (and reluctant sometimes-boyfriends) Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, they are identical (possibly fraternal) triplets, though they have begun wearing distinct hairstyles in recent years. Although their almost cliché girliness sometimes grates on Huey, Dewey and Louie's nerves, April, May and June are also competent and resourceful and have often gone on adventures on their own. This is not suprising, as they are part of the Chickadees Patrol, the ultra-competent female-only rivals of the Junior Woodchucks.
Behind the scenesEdit
April, May and June's last name is unknown, though commonly-reckoned to be "Duck", which would fit the fact that in Johannes A. Grote's Duck Family Tree, their father is the son of Drusilla Duck and a brother of Whitewater Duck.
Personalities and Color-Coding Edit
Although April, May, and June are depicted in most stories as being exactly identical much like Huey, Dewey, and Louie, this is not always the case.
In the Dutch Duckies stories, April has pigtails, May has a ponytail, and June has a hair band. These designs have also been used in Dutch stories outside of the Duckies series, and have occasionally been used in Danish stories as well.
Legend of the Three Caballeros depicts the three as having separate personalities (somewhat akin to the separate personalities of DuckTales 2017's versions of Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck), while also giving them a consistent color-coding and slightly different voices (although they are all voiced by the same actor, Jessica DiCiccio. June, who wears blue, is the kindest of the three, and has the most high-pitched voice, May, who wears orange, is sarcastic and slightly pessimistic, and has the most low-pitched voice, and April, who wears yellow, is somewhere in-between the other two in personality and voice. Whether these colors and personalities will eventually be used outside of the show remains to be seen.
