B.O.Y.D., originally known as 2BO and whose acronym name originally meant Beaks Optmisitc Youth Droid but was later changed to stand for Be Only Yourself Dude, is a robot built to resemble a youthful anthropomorphic African Grey Parrot.

Description

B.O.Y.D., then known as 2BO, was built in Tokyolk by Doctor Akita and his intern, Gyro Gearloose. Gyro had treated 2BO like a real boy, but Akita saw 2BO only as a weapon and reprogrammed him to attack the city behind Gyro's back. After causing much destruction, 2BO was taken down by Inspector Tezuka.

Mark Beaks later found B.O.Y.D. in a garbage dump while Beaks was scavenging for inventions to steal. Beaks then used B.O.Y.D. as an excuse to attend Doofus Drake's birthday party and make off with the expensive gift bags (also, Beaks couldn't pass up the opportunity to publish numerous pictures of himself with his adorable "son" online). B.O.Y.D. is sweet, polite, and personable. He is considerably more square than Beaks (in spite of a forced attempt to talk like his "father"). B.O.Y.D. was initially under the impression that he was a real boy. After being disillusioned of this by Louie Duck, B.O.Y.D. briefly went haywire.

Louie later reprogrammed B.O.Y.D., reverting him to his original function of a loving son; B.O.Y.D. wasted no time in getting himself adopted by Mr and Mrs Drake, in the hopes that Doofus might reform if he had a peer to befriend. Now at ease with his true nature, B.O.Y.D. used his incredible computation abilities to complete a legal process within seconds which left him owner of half of the Drake fortune, ending Doofus's rule of terror over the household.

After Akita reprogrammed B.O.Y.D. to attack Tokyolk again, Gyro snapped him out of it by telling B.O.Y.D. that he was a definitely real boy. Soon after, B.O.Y.D. changed the meaning of his acronym to Be Only Yourself Dude. His eye color also changed to blue.

Behind the Scenes

B.O.Y.D. first appeared in Happy Birthday, Doofus Drake in 2019, after having appeared on the teaser poster revealing many future appearing characters.
