The Beaks Unmanned Driver-Drone (Yay!), better known as B.U.D.D.Y., is or was a male sentient robot from the 2017 Continuum.
Description[]
B.U.D.D.Y. was the prototype of a line of vehicle-driving robots "developed" by Mark Beaks in 2018, which he had created through plagiarizing the technology developed by Gyro Gearloose for his failed project Li'l Bulb, adding minimal adjustments of his own; in fact beneath the screen-helmet, B.U.D.D.Y.'s true head was still a bulb.
Though B.U.D.D.Y. initially seemed perfect, Beaks had neglected to correct the flaw that had led to Li'l Bulb being shelved in the first place (his unfortunate tendency to go evil). As a result, B.U.D.D.Y. fell just short of killing Launchpad McQuack, Scrooge McDuck, Dewey Duck and Beaks himself during a test race. At the end of that fiasco B.U.D.D.Y. fell off a cliff and into a river, with several large boulders coming after him; as expected, he died.
Behind the scenes[]
B.U.D.D.Y. first appeared in 2018 in Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System. It was confirmed on Suspenders of Disbelief that B.U.D.D.Y. is indeed dead, though this does not mean the world can rest easy, as the plans of Li'l Bulb are still open-source, meaning other bulb-robots identical to B.U.D.D.Y. could surface at any time.
