Bill Money is a genial American business. He grew up with his dastardly cousin Jim Rascal on the farmhouse home of marmalade tycoon Doug Maggs, his great-uncle. Upon Maggs's death in 1938, Bill inherited his enormous wealth, but with extremely curious instructions: he would receive the fortune one million at a time, monthly, and would only get the next million if he could prove he had spent the first one completely. If he failed to spend the month's million in time, the entire fortune would default to Jim Rascal. At a loss about how to spend the money, Money ended up traveling the world with Spirou (in the Belgian boy's first great globe-trotting adventure).
