Captain Peghook was an anthropomorphic parrot from the 2017 Continuum who is now a ghost.

A fearsome ghost pirate known as “the Scourge of the River Styx”, Captain Peghook faced off against Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck and Della Duck in the early 2000's. Peghook was defeated and sealed inside a chest which Scrooge took back to his McDuck Manor and stored in his garage.

In 2017, Della's sons Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck accidentally let Peghook loose, and he teamed up with the Headless Man-Horse in his campaign for revenge against Scrooge McDuck. Scrooge arrived on the scene and sneakily made a binding supernatural bargain with the sinister seaman, asking "what it would take to shuffle [him] off to the Afterlife". Peghook answered “The head of Scrooge McDuck!” and found himself tossed a statue head belonging to Scrooge.

Forced to follow through on the deal, Peghook was sucked into the beyond with one last enraged roar of “I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SPECIFIIIIIC!!!”.

Behind the scenes

Captain Hook was only ever seen in the 2017 DuckTales 2017 episode Woo-oo!, aside from an appearance in the series' opening credits. Peghook shares his name and profession with a secondary antagonist in Disney's Magical Quest III, a minion of King Pete. However,  it is unlikely one is a counterpart to the other, as they are different species.
