Castle MacAdam is the probable English name of a castle located somewhere in Scotland.
Description[]
Castle MacAdam, located in the dismal MacAxe Swamps, was originally owned by MacAdam. After his death, MacAdam is said to have continued haunting the castle, which garnered a reputation as the most haunted place in Scotland. It was already possessed of this reputation during the lifetime of Scrooge McDuck's grandfather, who was dared by Powderhorn McBeagle to spend a night in the castle. McDuck refused, but did not give Powderhorn the money of the bet either. Consequently, if he wanted to avoid having to give his entire fortune to Powderhorn's descendants, Scrooge was forced to fulfill the terms of the bet and spend a night in the Castle. He and his nephews did not meet any genuine ghosts on this occasion, instead being bedeviled by Beagles disguised as ghosts.
Behind the scenes[]
Castle MacAdam appears in the 1965 story When A Dime's A Dime.
