Caws and Effect is a comic story written by Don Christensen and drawn by Paul Murry. It features Pluto, Butch the Bulldog, Fifi the Poodle, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

Mickey's canine companion Pluto tries to woo Minnie's new dog, an attractive poodle called Fifi. Unfortunately for Pluto, Fifi is also courted by the brutish bulldog Butch. However, Pluto gets a chance to shine when he learns Fifi is bothered by a mean crow whom Butch, being strong but rather dumb, is helpless against.

Behind the scenesEdit

This story was first printed in May of 1953 in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #152. It was then reprinted in Mickey Mouse #310, and also in the Australian Mickey Mouse #3 and Giant #350.

INDUCKS mistakenly accounts for the Fifi featured in the story as being Fifi the Peke. While a similar character (being a female dog owned by Minnie Mouse whom Pluto attempts to woo), the Fifi in this story is a poodle, as opposed to a peke, and what's more, is explicitly a new acquisition of Minnie's — whereas Fifi the Peke is a longstanding pet of hers.
