Cheese-and-Crackers Nightmare is INDUCKS's pseudo-title for a comic one-pager written by Bill Walsh, penciled by Paul Murry and inked by Dick Moores. It features Mickey Mouse, and, in their debuts, Mickey's Nightmare and the Other Nightmare.

Plot[]

As Mickey Mouse goes to sleep expecting his usual nightmare, he finds himself surprised by a stranger!

References[]

  • Nightmares exist as apparently real beings, small, ugly humanoids in extravagant clothing.

Behind the scenes[]

This story was first printed in various American newspapers. It was reprinted in English in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #95 and in Volume 8 of the Floyd Gottfredson Library.

The depiction of Nigthmares as hideous little trolls who appear to actually physically exist ties back to the mythological Night Mare of German folklore, from which the name of the modern understanding of "bad dreams" is derived.
