Countdown to Termination is a DuckTales 2017 comic written by Joey Cavalieri with pencils by Andrea Greppi and Ciro Cangialosi, and inking by Cristina Stella. It features the 2017 Continuum versions of Scrooge McDuck and Gyro Gearloose, the Buzzard Brothers, and, in its debut, the Time-Slowing Helmet. Mark Beaks, Thomas Henison, and Nikola Pecksya are also mentioned, and what appears to be a 2017 Continuum version of Kildare Coot makes a cameo.

Plot

The McDuck Enterprises Board of Directors once again gives Gyro Gearloose an ultimatum: he can only keep his job if he can come up with a marketable, non-evil invention within 24 hours. Gyro accepts the challenge with a smile, but soon finds that he isn't as good working on a tight schedule as when he can let his spirits roam…

• The Buzzard Brothers had previously tried to get Gyro fired in The Great Dime Chase (2017).
