Countess Bonbon is a relatively wealthy noblewoman, part of the Duckburg social elite. Until 1968, she employed a butler called Boris, but let him go after it transpired that he had been stealing crystals from her rare chandelier using the dismantled banister of her staircase as a makeshift ladder — a crime uncovered by the questionably competent, short-lived detective agency of Donald, Daisy and Dimwitty Duck after some time was spent by Daisy at the Countess's house, undercover as a new maid.

Countess Bonbon appears in the 1968 story The Vanishing Banister as a supporting character. “Bonbon” is the French term for a sweet, which suggests the Countess has French roots, though her nationality and background are not elaborated upon in the story and she possesses no particular accent.
