Custer Coot is an anthropomorphic coot.

Custer Coot is the son of golf enthusiast Charlie Coot and grandnephew of Mousetonian inventor Clarence Coot. After Clarence's disappearance in the early 2000's, Charlie Coot and his son moved into his house, which Custer discovered appeared to be "haunted" by his great-uncle. Energetic and curious, Custer explored the ins and outs of the house, finding a secret entrance to Clarence's lab. This came in handy when Mickey Mouse got involved with the case, eventually managing to free Clarence from Dimension X, where he had accidentally sent himself during an experiment. Following these events, Custer and Charlie stayed to live with Clarence.

Behind the scenesEdit

Custer Coot appears in the 2001 story Is This House Haunted? by Don Markstein and Noel Van Horn.

Is This House Haunted? does not clarify whether Clarence's Coot family is the same one as Cornelius Coot's; while Charlie calls up Cornelius among other "famous coots" while trying to uphold his family's honor, he does not clarify whether he is referring to the Coots as a family, or as a species (the fact that comic dialogue is rendered in all-caps does not allow one to tell for sure). On this wiki, it is assumed that they are indeed related, but this is not a certain fact.
