Darkwing Duck is St Canard's resident Super Hero. There are at least three stories explaining his origin. One episode tells that he was born on another planet. One shows him visited by his future counterpart and One shows him saving his school prom from his future enemy Megavolt. While Darkwing was on his first case against Taurus Bulba He met Launchpad McQuack (a former pilot of Scrooge McDuck) and Gosalyn Waddlemeyer who was the orphan granddaughter of Professor Waddlemeyer. After he defeated Taurus Bulba Darkwing adopted Gosalyn as his daughter and they both moved in with Launchpad at 537 Avian Way. Only Launchpad, Gosalyn, her best friend Honker Muddlefoot, and Morgana Macawber (Darkwing's Girlfriend) know that Drake Mallard is Darkwing Duck. Darkwing sometimes works for SHUSH on Secret Missions. Other times he does more independent cases. He is voiced by Jim Cummings.
Darkwing Duck/Ducktales comics 2011
In the most recent comics Darkwing briefly retired but he came out of retirement when he found out that Taurus Bulba was running Quackwerks. After that adventure was over he encountered lots of alternate versions of himself faced an evil spirit while watching the disappearance of Morgana tried to run for mayor and shared an adventure with Scrooge McDuck and his nephews Huey Dewey and Louie and Webby Vanderquack in addition to Launchpad, Gosalyn and Honker and Gizmo Duck was there too.
