Dickens's Christmas Carol (Le Conte de Noël de Dickens in the original French) is an audio story, a French remake of An Adaptation of Dickens' Christmas Carol. Like the original, it features Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Willie the Giant, John Foulfellow, Gideon, Grimhilde, Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse, Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse, Merlin and Goofy. This version also features a Narrator separate from Scrooge, who reads the introduction, and explicitly mentions Snow White and Charles Dickens in said introduction.
Plot[]
A theatrical adaptation of Dickens' Christmas Carol narrated by Scrooge McDuck (naturally playing Ebenezer Scrooge), with the "Walt Disney Players" (a makeshift troupe of Disney characters) playing the different parts.

- The Only Thing That Counts With Me
- Dear Partner
- Under the Holly Branch
- For Love of Love
- What a Glorious Christmas Morning
References[]
- Charles Dickens wrote the original Christmas Carol story “over a hundred years ago”.
Behind the scenes[]
This record was released in 1976.
Though based on An Adaptation of Dickens' Christmas Carol, it is not a straight translation of it; the narration of it is significantly changed — including the reduction of Mickey Mouse's part, the adding of an introduction not read by Scrooge, and the removal of some of the songs in favor of new ones (such as one for Jacob Marley, Dear Partner). A new orchestral score was also added.
Interestingly, Scrooge's reasoning for turning away the charity collectors is also different; rather than denying any interest in the poor's wellbeing, he argues that the two charity workers are probably just swindlers who want to pocket the money for themselves. The Ghosts of Christmas are also explicitly described as "ghosts" in the classical sense, mentioning the time they were alive. Finally, Tiny Tim is said to have starved to death outright, rather than died for lack of medical care for some other condition.
Interestingly, the voice Roger Carel gives to Merlin has little to do with that given to the wizard in The Sword in the Stone, even in the French dub (or, indeed, the voice used by Carel himself a few years later in Merlin the Enchanter). The voice he uses is, on the other hand, similar to the one he used for Maestro in the Once Upon a Time… animated series. Similarly, Carel gives Willie the Giant a voice not unlike that of his Undertaken in Lucky Luke: Daisy Town, an animated film he was working on during the same period.
