Doctor Fossil is a mad scientist and foe of Darkwing Duck.
Description[]
A deranged geneticist, Doctor Fossil sought to transform the anthropomorphic animals of his day into creatures from the age of dinosaurs. One of his first victims was an Anthropomorphic Duck who became Stegmutt, and served as Fossil's naive henchman as he continued his diabolical schemes. Fossil eventually came into conflict with St. Canard's costumed defender, Darkwing Duck, and unwittingly provided him with a potent recurring ally in Stegmutt once the kindhearted mutant realized the doctor's true nature.
Behind the scenes[]
Doctor Fossil debuted in the Darkwing Duck episode Jurassic Jumble, which marked his only animation appearance.
His goal to transform intelligent beings into dinosaurs, and his own mutation into an Anthropomorphic Pterosaur, resemble the Marvel Comics villain Sauron.
