The local physician near the Benbow Inn, this friend of Squire Trelawney's got involved with Long John Silver's plot to get Captain Flint's treasure after Jim Hawkins tried to get him to examine William Bones. Although everyone involved got into some scrapes agains pirates and mutineers, Livesey came home safe and sound with a good share of the treasure.
