Donald Duck's Worst Nightmare is a comic story written and drawn by Carl Barks. It features Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Daisy Duck, and, in their sole appearances, Mrs Gobblechin, Mrs Chatterbeak, the Petit Point Embroidery Club and the Tuesday Tatting Circle.
Donald Duck is plagued by terrible nightmares, night after night. Against his wishes, Huey, Dewey and Louie call a doctor, who prescribes an activity Donald will find both despicable and dull — crocheting, as it happens. But on top of the humiliation should Daisy ever find out, Donald soon realizes this method is ineffective. There remains one final suggestion of the Doctor's — perhaps Donald living through a scare bigger than anything he could dream might cure him!…
Behind the scenesEdit
Written in August of 1948, this story was first printed in February of 1949 in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #101. It was reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #491, the Gladstone Comic Album #12, Donald Duck Family Comics #2, and, of course, in the various versions of the Carl Barks Library.
In 2016, for unclear reasons, a shortened remake was produced by the Dutch publisher.
