Donald Duck and the Christmas Carol, also known as Uncle Scrooge's Christmas Carol or simply The Christmas Carol, is a written story written by Jane Werner and illustrated by Carl Barks. It features Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck and Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, and characters disguise themselves as Santa Claus and as the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Future.

Plot

After Scrooge McDuck acts especially callously towards Donald Duck and the boys, the latter take it upon themselves to take a page about of Charles Dickens's book and have three "fearsome spirits" visit Scrooge and convince him to change his ways.

This short illustrated story, created in 1958, was printed in 1960 as part of the Little Golden Books series. It was reprinted in the original Carl Barks Library and in Uncle Scrooge in Color #1 (where it was renamed Uncle Scrooge's Christmas Carol).

It is best-remembered for Carl Barks's illustrations, and for being the first of many ventures of the Duck cast into the Christmas Carol story.

In 1989, following the release and great success of Mickey's Christmas Carol, a version of the story was finally published in the Netherlands (where it had never been seen), in an edited version that included art of Jiminy Cricket (suggesting he was the narrator of the story, and in obvious reference to his role in Mickey's Christmas Carol).
