The Duckburg Satellite is an artificial, scientific satellite.

Description[]

The Duckburg Satellite (which quacks where others beep) was launched into space in 1958, “orbiting the Earth over two thousand miles out”. It was the first Earthling-made satellite to observe the Dark Side of the Moon, and, to humanity's surprise, also discovered the existence of the Golden Moon, prompting a Great Space Race for ownership of the five-hundred-miles-wide ball of solid twenty-four-carat gold. On their way to the Moon to make their claim, Scrooge McDuck and his nephews crossed paths with the Satellite.

Behind the scenes[]

The Duckburg Satellite appears in the 1958 Carl Barks story The Twenty-Four Carat Moon.
