Description
Duckworth was the butler and housekeeper of Scrooge McDuck. He was extremely loyal to Scrooge. Because of this, he became Scrooge's favorite butler. He was known to throw the best parties, and Scrooge would only allow him to plan his (Scrooge's) birthday party each year. Duckworth died at an unknown point before August 11, 2017, and Scrooge stopped celebrating his birthday, because he believed that no one else could throw a party as good, and because he secretly missed Duckworth. In 2017, when Huey Duck decided to throw Scrooge a party anyway, he hired an illusionist, Nik Nokturne, to entertain the guests. The guests, invited by Louie Duck, were, unbeknownst to anyone but Louie (the party was a costume party, and the masks disguised their faces), Ma Beagle, Mark Beaks, and Flintheart Glomgold. During the magic show, Nokturne put an unhappy Scrooge in his "abyss box", and attempted to summon a spirit to make Scrooge disappear. The spirit he summoned was the ghost of Duckworth. Realizing that the masked guests were Scrooge's nemeses, he turned out the lights, freed Scrooge from the box, and the two left the room, locking everyone in. They proceeded to play an elaborate trick on the party guests, making them think that Scrooge had been kidnapped by a demon (actually Duckworth in disguise), until Huey, Dewey, and Louie discovered Scrooge watching the footage of the party guests being tricked through security cameras and laughing. Scrooge the introduced them to Duckworth, and revealed to them what had happened. A few days later, Mrs Beakley and Webby Vanderquack, returning from a vacation, had the door opened for them by a ghostly Duckworth. Webby simply greeted him nonchalantly, while Mrs Beakley was more shocked to see the former butler. Duckworth greeted her, passive-aggressively insulting her housework. Mrs Beakley then walked through Duckworth, stating that she preferred it when he was dead, much to Duckworth's chagrin.
