Description[]
Gemstone Hearts are large gems which serve as “the soul of the processing unit” of robots, separate from their computer brain itself. The nature of the gemstone can allegedly influence the personality of the robot using it, with a harder gemstone yielding a more courageous and indomitable individual. Among possessors of Gemstone Hearts are the Clockwork Cherubs[1][NON-DISNEY] and the 2017 Continuum's Gilded Man.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Gemstone Hearts were first mentioned in 2019 in Cupid Fact File No. 177 — The Green Gorillas as crystalline “souls of the processing unit”, with the term itself making its debut in Cupid Fact File No. 180 – The Society of the Rhyming Dove. Notably, a few weeks after this, the concept resurfaced (seemingly by coincidence) not in another installment of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids spinoff but in an episode of the mainstream DuckTales 2017 TV series.
