Cattle Wars, or More News From The McViper Clan, is a story written and drawn by Don Rosa, composed of several pages from an unfinished draft of the third chapter of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. It features Scrooge McDuck, the McVipers, Theodore Roosevelt, Fergus McDuck and Downy O'Drake.
Description[]
Scrooge McDuck writes home to his parents upon arriving in Montana about his first adventures: hired as a cowboy by the McViper Family (who he hasn't yet realized are dishonest), he is tricked by them into getting his pay in the form of "cattle" which is really just composed of mangy buffalos. He bumps into a friendly man called Theodore Roosevelt, who soon helps him realize his error and get his revenge on the McVipers.

- This storyboard-story is an abridged form of an earlier draft of The Buckaroo of the Badlands (1992), the 3d chapter of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. It is not actually compatible with the events of the finished version in its entirety, as it would have to involve Scrooge meeting Teddy Roosevelt twice, but it is imaginable that a Teddy-less version of Cattle Wars’s events might have taken place prior to Scrooge's meeting McKenzie in Buckaroo.

The Buckaroo of the Badlands was created by Don Rosa in 1992. After being published online on DUCKhunt as part of the Lost Scripts, where it received its individual title of Cattle Wars, the segment was printed in the German, Scandinavian and Brazilian Don Rosa Libraries; the first two pages of it were also printed in Volume 4 of the American Don Rosa Library and in the Italian equivalent thereof.
