Matei
Mike Matei (born October 5, 1980) is an American artist and producer who is most well known for being the second half of the Cinemassacre web-series, which itself is best known for the Angry Video Game Nerd series by James Rolfe.
As a child, Matei learned to draw due to his love for Scrooge McDuck comics and his particular affinity towards Carl Barks' work, as well as Floyd Gottfredson's work on the Mickey Mouse comic strip. Though he was primarily a Duck fan, Matei was also a huge fan of Mickey Mouse stories, but primarily the Floyd Gottfredson version of the mouse, noting that Mickey "was feisty and human and REAL" in the stories.
In 2011, Matei would work officially with Fantagraphics as an image restoration artist for Gottfredson's Mickey Mouse strips.[1]
