This story was only ever printed in English in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #284.
The name of "Carl's Kennel" may be a pun on famed Disney artist and creator of Scrooge McDuck, Carl Barks, though it is hard to say for sure, as the name of "Carl" may simply have been chosen for the sake of the alliteration with "Kennel".
