Gabrielle Ravenswood was a human man.
Description[]
Gabrielle Ravenswood was the young and devoted wife of Gold Rush-era Thunder Mesa mining baron Arthur Ravenswood, and therefore the sister-in-law of Henry Ravenswood, the future Phantom. After Arthur was injured in the 1860 earthquake, Gabrielle spent the next nine years tending to her ill husband. After he passed away in 1869, Gabrielle only outlived him one year before dying of a broken heart, leaving her niece Melanie alone in Phantom Manor with the various dark spirits brought about by the Curse…
Behind the scenes[]
Gabrielle Ravenswood was created for the backstory of the Disneyland Paris ride Phantom Manor, which opened in 1992. She and her husband's tombstones were supposed to appear in the ride. However, they were cut to simplify the ride's storyline, and thus their existence wasn't revealed until the 2012 short story Family Secrets.
