In the 19th century, Galveston was a city in the Republic of Texas. It was, according to the Ghost Host, the place of the last mortal sighting of exiled New Orleans privateer Jean Lafitte, who subsequently vanished off the face of the Earth (albeit leaving some of his associates behind).
Behind the scenes[]
Graveston, Texas exists in real life. It was mentioned in 2006 in a historical context in Mystery of the Manse: Part Three, which does not elaborate on whether it still exists in the present day. In fact, in 1836, Galveston briefly acted as the capital of the itself-short-lived Republic of Texas.
