Gazeem was a human man.
Gazeem was a self-proclaimed "humble thief" living in Agrabah. The treacherous sorcerer and Grand Vizier Jafar hired him to track down the second half of a beetle medallion that would allow him to find the Cave of Wonders. Gazeem did so, at the price of murdering a "few" people, and, after duelling Aladdin, brought the jewel to Jafar in the desert one night. Jafar used the medallion to awaken the Mouth of the Cave and then sent Gazeem inside to scout ahead. As he wasn't worthy of the Cave's treasure and had ignored the warnings, the Cave closed its jaws around Gazeem, killing him.
Behind the scenesEdit
Gazeem first appeared as a character in the 1992 film Aladdin. In the Sega-Genesis video game adaptation of the film, which starts a little earlier than the movie, Gazeem (holding his half of the medallion) is seen duelling Aladdin in the streets of Agrabah, being one of the first bosses in the game.
