General Snozzie, is the Junior Woodchucks' official bloodhound and their highest ranking tracker, whom can sniff out a trace from nearly anything.
Behind the Scenes[]
He was introduced in Dodging Miss Daisy, where the woodchucks hunt down Donald. After that he was used a few more times by Carl Barks, and in later years became used by several other creators.
Interestingly, for three of Barks' stories published after his retirement, Snozzie was replaced by Pluto. These stories were The Day the Mountain Shook, Let Sleeping Bones Lie and Hound of the Moaning Hills. Except for the first mentioned, this was retconed in later remakes of the stories.
Snozzie was also featured as a puppy in the flashback-story W.H.A.D.A.L.O.T.T.A.J.A.R.G.O.N., where he seems a lot more aggressive than in his adult years.
