George Mallardy was an anthropomorphic duck from the 2017 Continuum.
Description
A glamorous adventurer and mountain-climber, George Mallardy set out in 1942 to be the first man to get to the top of Mount Neverest. A younger Scrooge McDuck, celebrating his first billion dollar, convinced him to let him tag along. Mallardy soon deemed Scrooge too young and inexperienced to be of help to him and cut off the rope holding Scrooge to him, deciding to continue alone. This decision proved to be his undoing, as Mallardy, incapable of finishing the climb without a partner, ended up dying in a cave, etching Curse you, McDuck in the wall as his final words.
Behind the scenes
George Mallardy first appeared in 2017 in The Impossible Summit of Mount Neverest, an episode of DuckTales 2017. He is one of the characters specifically created for the series, who presumably does not have a counterpart in the regular universe — though he does have a counterpart in the real world, the ill-fated mountaineer, George Mallory.
