Going Ape is a comic story written and drawn by Carl Barks. It features Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Daisy Duck, and, in their debut, Mr and Mrs Van Astorbilt, Mayor Stiffshirt, Mrs Stiffshirt, and the Evening Bugle Publisher. A portrait of a duck retroactively identified as Potcrack McDuck can also be seen.

Seized by social ambitions, Donald Duck organizes a garden-party at his house, which he wants to make unique and memorable through the use of a jungle motif. However, he becomes fixated on getting Huey, Dewey and Louie to play monkeys as entertainment, and, when they prove too reluctant, brings in a pair of devilishly efficient Hypnotic Spectacles…

This story was first printed in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #91. It was reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #307 and #540, as well as in the Australian Walt Disney's Comics #24 and Jumbo #34, the British Mickey and Friends 1995-42, and, of course, in all versions of the Carl Barks Library.
