Gosalyn Waddlemeyer is a female anthropomorphic duckling and the 2017 Continuum version of Gosalyn Mallard.

Description[]

An orphan, Gosalyn was raised for a time by her grandfather Doctor Thaddeus Waddlemeyer, inventor of the Ramrod. Unfortunately, his superior was Doctor Taurus Bulba, who responded to Waddlemeyer’s warnings about the Ramrod’s instability by using the device to send him to an unknown alternate universe. When Bulba afterwards claimed to have invented the Ramrod himself, Gosalyn set out to find her grandfather and expose Bulba.

Equipped with a wrist-mounted crossbow and several other tools, Gosalyn broke into Bulba’s lab, only to be interrupted by the arrival of Drake Mallard in his persona as Darkwing Duck. She later tracked Darkwing to his hideout in Darkwing Tower, and tried to convince him of Bulba’s duplicity so he would help her. When Drake proved reluctant she was ready to give up on him, but the two decided to trust each other after some encouragement from Launchpad McQuack and Dewey Duck. Gosalyn was proven right, but Bulba responded by unleashing the Fearsome Four on St. Canard.

Gosalyn suffered further disappointment as Drake was reluctant to face the supervillains. She also resisted Launchpad’s suggestions that she be part of an adventuring family with Drake and himself, asserting that she already had a family. However, Gosalyn warmed up to Drake after learning that he had driven himself to exhaustion in his efforts to find a way to reunite her with her grandfather. When Drake later left to face the villains alone, Gosalyn insisted on going after him, even submitting to the embarrassment of dressing up like another Darkwing Duck villain.

Rescuing Drake, Gosalyn and Launchpad helped him face the villains. However, Gosalyn was unable to locate her grandfather using the Ramrod, which now could not be deactivated. Heartbroken but resigned, Gosalyn destroyed the machine with one of her crossbow bolts. However, Drake surprised her with an offer to join him as a crime fighter, with a promise that he would continue seeking a means to reunite her with her grandfather. Gosalyn accepted, and the two-together with “Uncle” Launchpad-set out to defend the city.
