Gus is the ghost of a male human.
Description[]
An ageless, bearded dwarf of an escaped convict, Gus is one of the Haunted Mansion's happy haunts — specifically, one of the three Hitchhiking Ghosts. As with many of the Mansion's inhabitants, Gus's biography and circumstances of death are the subject of a thousand contradictory rumors (though it is obvious he was a prisoner at some point). He appears to be buried in the Mansion's family plot, his being a gravestone simply bearing the name "Gus", with neither a last name or an epitaph.
Much like his fellows Phineas and Ezra, Gus awaits at the Mansion's exit, promising to follow mortal guests home and pester and prank them until they return to the Mansion (which they have done on several occasions). Gus rarely talks, and if he does, mumbles more than he speak. He is grumpy and solitary, which conceals a darker side.
At some point prior to 2002, all three Hitchhiking Ghosts somehow got trapped in a crate which found its way to the House of Mouse's overcrowded storage room, from which guests of the house would occasionally release them, only for them to be stuffed back in there after a few hours. However, it seems that the Hitchhikers eventually returned to their normal Mansion dwellings.
