By 1960, when its owner Scrooge McDuck showed this chair to his nephew Donald Duck, it had been in the McDuck family for a hundred years. Scotty McDuck had redone its upholstery in 1912, hiding a fortune in the stuffing to hide it from tax inspectors — a fortune which was rediscovered by Donald, who, by simply poking at it, caused the by then very frail fabric to tear.
