Somewhat resembling Dragons as understood on Earth, these creatures are the only known form of animal life on the tiny tropical planet known as the Hermit Planet, discovered in 1962 by Professor Hermit. Hermit Dragons have a peculiar life cycle: once the eggs are laid, they lie in wait for stupendous amounts of time, long enough for the previous generation to become extinct; only upon the nearby volcano's eruption do they revive and hatch. Despite the smallness of their wings, newborn Hermit Dragons are instantly capable of flight.
Behind the scenesEdit
Hermit Dragons appear in the 1963 story Beyond The Moon.
