Irrigonias are an artificial species of sentient, ambulatory plants.
Description
Irrigonias are plants with a large sponge-like stem from which small roots stem. Their single flower has an expressive face on it, and the roots are mobile, acting like tentacles. This allows the Irrigonia to move about.
Irrigonias were designed by Professor Van Herb for the Center of Experimental Biofloridology as a help to humanitarian missions during draughts, as they are very good at finding and storing water, which they can then release on cue if their leaves are twisted like faucets. The first-ever Irrigonia was Petronilla the Irrigonia.
