Jack and Jill are two children featured in Mother Goose rhymes.

Description[]

Jack and Jill are characters in a Mother Goose story, which involves them going up a hill to fetch a bucketful of water from a well. Like other Mother Goose characters, they have some measure of existence as actual magical beings who can at times come alive from the pages of the storybook; in 1969, Gyro Gearloose was able to meet them thanks to his Fantasy Finder, bringing back their bucket as evidence.

Behind the scenes[]

Jack and Jill first appeared in the 1931 Silly Symphonies cartoon Mother Goose Melodies. They were later mentioned in the 1969 comic story The Golden Apples. They are, of course, characters in an actual nursery rhyme.
