Japan in the 2017 Continuum is a country, Gyro Gearloose did his internship there with his mentor, (and later enemy) doctor Akita.
History
Some years ago in the Japanese city, Tokyolk, doctor Akita and his intern, Gyro Gearloose built a robot, called 2-BO. But the intern, Gyro, didn't know it was a killer robot, Akita wanted to destroy the city. The city was ruined and Gyro go to America and beginned work for Scrooge McDuck. Years later Huey Duck, becomes friend with 2-BO, that then is called B.O.Y.D.. But there is a glitch in B.O.Y.D., so they go to Gyro with him. He go with Huey, and B.O.Y.D. to Tokyolk to fix it.
