Last Sled to Dawson is a comic story. It features Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Goldie O'Gilt, Soapy Slick, Helmsman Benny, and in flashback, Casey Coot.

Scrooge McDuck goes with his nephews, Donald, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, to the Klondike, to retrieve a sled he lost on a glacier many years ago, but an old nemesis, Soapy Slick, makes it his goal to stop him.

  • A ledger appears with the year "1954" written on it. This is likely intended to be an indicator of when the story takes place.[note 1]

Behind the scenes

Last Sled to Dawson was written, drawn, and inked by Don Rosa. It was first published on March the 22nd, 1988. The story was written as a sequel to Back to the Klondike, though the use of Soapy Slick as the story's antagonist was inspired by North of the Yukon.

  1. Don Rosa stated, "There is a tremendous amount of lil' hidden tidbits in the stories; one detail that pinpointed the year a story was taking place was a ledger on page one of 'Last Sled to Dawson' which read '1954'... and I think I did the same thing with some ledger books in 'Cash Flow'" according to "Don Rosa on Himself"
