Lex Hamerslag is a young male anthropomorphic duck.
Description[]
Lex is a computer whizz-kid rarely seen without his laptop. He lives with his mother Eva and their cat Oliebol. His grandparents live abroad but he often speaks to them through video calls.
As new arrivals to Duckburg from the smaller Cootsville, the Hamerslags move into the house at 11 Quack Street, as Donald's neighbors on the opposite side of Jones'. Lex quickly befriends Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie.
While in the Dutch Donald Duck magazine's comics all affirmative sentences usually end with an exclamation mark, Lex is unusual in how he uses a full stop instead, which has made some fans theorize that it is meant to reflect that Lex is portrayed as a character on the autistic spectrum.
Behind the scenes[]
Eva and Lex were among the characters submitted to the Dutch Donald Duck weekly magazine's contest as candidates for Donald's new regular neighbors. They were created by 9-year old Eva Hulsman.
