Gyro Gearloose, growing bitter about the way all of his inventions meant to assist mankind end up malfunctioning and being more trouble than they're worth, decides to foreswear all machinery and go off to live in the desert. Predictably, Gyro is clueless about how to survive in the wilderness, and only lives through his first few hours thanks to the help of the Little Helper… and a chance encounter, too.
