The Mapa De Los Barcos Hundidos is an old Spanish map that plays an important role in multiple stories by Don Rosa.
Description
Spain had a fleet of treasure salvage ships. The captain of the flagship, Francisco Melian, had a contract with King Philip IV to salvage the lost treasure armada of 1622.
Captain Melian's flagship, the Candelaria hosted the map of the lost treasure armada, but it was lost in 1655 when the ship was sunk by Dutch raiders.
After the installation of the Glass Dome, the Mapa was cleaned off its growth and photographed.
Scrooge and his nephews used a copy of the map in The Last Lord of Eldorado and other stories.
