Merloon the Mixed-Up Mage is a male Proto-Toon resembling a small anthropomorphic seagull.
Description[]
A "living drawing" created by Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck using magic ink, Merloon the Mixed-Up Mage was characterized as a cantankerous wizard who constantly got his spells mixed up, part of the same storyline as Sir Luckalot and Maid Lovelorn. Soon after coming to life, he overheard his creators describing him as "wacky", and got so offended he attempted to turn them into frogs. Naturally, he got mixed-up, turning himself into a frog by mistake. Merloon was last seen retreating into the Magic Inkwell alongside Luckalot and Lovelorn, in a bid to hide from the Proto-Toon dragon Melvin.
Behind the scenes[]
Merloon was only ever seen in the 2002 story Can You Imagine… Melvin?.
He shares his name with Merloon, another "wacky wizard", from the Arthurian Era, whom Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck encountered in Sir Gyro de Gearloose. It is possible that the triplets named their Mixed-Up Mage after the original Merloon.
