Mickey's Rhea is a non-anthropomorphic rhea belonging to Mickey Mouse.
Description[]
This lanky fowl, whose name and even gender is unknown, was the mode of transportation for "El Gaucho" aka Mickey Mouse in the 1920's. (S)he enjoys alcohol and, on at least one occasion, became so intoxicated that he could barely stand, much to the chagrin of Mickey, who was in the midst of an attempt to rescue Minnie Mouse from abduction by Peg-Leg Pete.
Behind the scenes[]
Mickey's rhea first appeared in The Gallopin' Gaucho, which was released on December the 30th, 1928. Little is known about the character, even though (s)he plays an important role in the cartoon.
