Mickey Mouse and the Pharaoh's Curse, also known as just The Pharaoh's Curse is a comic story drawn by Jim Pabian. It features Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Professor Dustibones, and, in his debut, Boris.

Plot[]

Mickey Mouse's old friend Dustibones calls him to his Museum, which has been deserted by all its watchmen and guides due to a supposed "Pharaoh's Curse", leaving a priceless gold sarcophagus unprotected…

Behind the scenes[]

This story was first printed in 1950 in the give-away Wheaties Premium #B-1. It was reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #557 and in two parts in the British The Disney Weekly #64 and #65.

Human Dustibones

Jim Pabian's humanized version of Professor Dustibones.

Mickey Mouse and the Pharaoh's Curse is Professor Dustibones's first appearance since his debut in The Land of Long Ago a full decade earlier. For unknown reasons, Jim Pabian drew Dustibones as a semi-realistic human rather than an anthropomorphic dog, though his design is otherwise consistent with Gottfredson's depiction of Dustibones in Long Ago. Due to this discrepancy in designs, I.N.D.U.C.K.S. does not recognize Dustibones's appearance in this story.
