Mickey Mouse and the Shadow of the Colossus, entitled Topolino e il Colosso di Rodi' in the original Italian, is a comic story written by Casty, penciled by Giorgio Cavazzano and inked by Sandro Zemolin. It features Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Eurasia Toft, and, in their debut, the titular Colossus, the Shadow Colossus, Chares of Lindos, Pericles, the Horde of the Violet Hare, its leader Doctor Malvazar and his pet Lancelot.
Description[]
Mickey Mouse and Goofy, on vacation on the island of Rhode, run into Eurasia Toft, their archeologist-adventurer pal. Eurasia is on the trail of the Colossus of Rhodes, which she has discovered was actually an automaton that didn't crumble as usually reckoned… but actually walked away. Naturally, our heroes aren't the only ones to seek the Colossus, which is also the target of the Horde of the Violet Hare…
Continuity[]
- Shadow of the Colossus is the first story in a Casty's "Atlantis cycle". It follows Mickey, Goofy and Eurasia's investigation into the secrets of Atlantis, antagonized by the Horde of the Violet Hare. Shadow of the Colossus is followed in chronology by Dark Mines of the Phantom Metal (2011) and Mickey Mouse and the Fire-Eye of Atlantis (2016), in which a flashback to the events of Shadow of the Colossus is seen.
